MERCHANDISE

“I wanted to create this t-shirt design in honor of my direct connection to the incarceration: my grandfather. He was only four years old when the government forced my family to leave their home in the Bay Area and incarcerated in Topaz. And because of the incarceration, I wasn't part of the Japanese American community until I was in my early 20s.

Now that I'm part of the community, I've realized how important it is to preserve this history. And as a gosei, I know this will only become more difficult because our survivors are passing away. It's only a matter of time before they're all gone. So, we must discuss this history with the survivors while they're still here.

So, if you're interested in purchasing this t-shirt, you'll be helping out a great cause that helps with having these necessary discussions. These discussions help our community heal from a neglected part of American history.”
