JAMP Needs Community Support!

Help Us Through This Critical Moment

At Japanese American Memorial Pilgrimages, our goal is to help mend the fractures in the Japanese American community caused by the WWII incarceration through community building, healing, and education.  For years, we at JAMP have dedicated ourselves to providing educational resources, community healing in the form of pilgrimages, and a platform for both organizations and individuals to share their projects.  We've collaborated closely with other nonprofits, sharing resources and working in harmony towards our common goals.

Unfortunately, we are currently facing unprecedented challenges. Our resources are dwindling due to under-enrollment for our pilgrimage to Topaz, not being selected as a recipient of the Japanese American Confinement Sites grant, and our stubborn adherence to our philosophy that our programming be free and easily accessible. Without immediate financial support, we risk losing the ability to continue our virtual and in-person programs, like Tadaima and our uniquely curated hybrid pilgrimages.

This puts us at a critical juncture. Without additional financial support, we are on the precipice of closing our doors. The thought of ending our mission breaks our hearts, as we know the profound impact our work has on the community. We’ve seen firsthand the healing and reconnection that happens during our pilgrimages, and we are determined to continue this vital work.

As a small nonprofit with only two dedicated employees, we're proud that 90% of donations go directly to our programs rather than overhead costs. Every contribution brings us one step closer to sustaining our mission and ensuring that we can continue our important work.
